mired in the muck - educating for the past instead of the future

well, the title says it all doesn't it?

motivated kids don't need the structure of today's conventional schools to acquire the skills they need in a TIMELY WAY

driven kids in rich environments will fly through what they need to learn to do what they want to do

and the others? they need to be taught what they actually need to know (screw state standards) and set loose in project based environments that prepare them to be productive (or get them being productive and making an impact/money)

this guys knows:

2012 run - gary johnson

mitch and the donald have dropped out

and apparently the fox folks have finally decided that sarah is not bright enough to be anything more than a talking head

obama is obama

and gary johnson is fun to read about - be great if he could shake things up

he's pro individual liberties, so decrim mj / treat other drugs as a health issue / abortion is fine / gay marriage is fine / smaller govt / less taxes   but wants to smallify govt by using block grants to the states / pro school vouchers

does triathlons / climbed everest (plus) / smashed up his body and needed med mj for a few years

you can listen to him on NPRs wait wait don't tell me here:

(my take on vouchers...  be fine if some religious schools were not in fact brainwashing facilities - will we provide vouchers for kids to sit and memorize the koran all day? the torah? or only vouchers for RRR education?)

and housed in cell-like environments

and to expand on the "we are treated like prisoners" post, we are also warehoused like prisoners

even the most mundane, repetitive work product can benefit from individuals who can problem solve and create efficiencies

not maximized in the cell-like workplaces currently over-utilized

here you go:

treated worse than prisoners

experienced, pro interrogators agree that pride/ego up techniques work best

in the workplace, pride/ego down and fear up (in the context of current economic times) are widespread

obviously, no one who is putting on workplace management seminars wants to refer to interrogation techniques, but hey - it is a no brainer...

treat people well and they will work well
